I think that people from Ukrain and Poland can understand you if you're russian speaker, but not perfectly. Many words in these languages are similar to each other, but it can be quite hard to understand them in spoken language. Many Ukrainians speak Russian, so they don't have problems with understanding it.
I've never talked to Polish people for a long time, just in the shops or something like that:) I think it's quite hard to understand Russian for them.
As for me, I can't understand Ukrainian at all . When I watched Ukrainian television, I couldn't understand anything. The Polish language is even worse understood (when it's spoken orally), because there are some sounds which are different from Russian. But in written form I can understand Polish and Ukrainian a little.
