I listen to some Romanian music and sometimes I have the feeling that a couple of songs may have originally been Portuguese (or Brazilian).

Namely these two:

Trei vorbe (Three words) by Teo Band

L-am spus si fetelor(I've also told the girls) by Lida Buble

I was wondering if anyone here recognizes the melodies and could point me toward the originals (if they are translations).

Sounds like sertanejo. The real thing, not the pop from today. But it's not any song I recognize.

Now I'll listen to the other one.

Obrigado!

I'm not sure about the second either, but the melody generally reminded me of some pop music I'd heard from Portugal. The first one reminded me of both Portuguese and Brazilian stuff I'd heard (but I don't know enough about either to put names to types).

There is, or used to be at least, a large Romanian community in Portugal and I think there used to be at least one Brazilian in Romania performing in manele [a kind of party music associated mostly with romanian gypsies] so it wouldn't be the weirdest thing for there to be some lusophone influence.

and sung Romanian just reminds me of Portuguese so there's that.
