Figure 1-9 in The Historical Roots of Elementary Mathematics by Lucas N. H. Bunt, Philip S. Jones, and Jack D. Bedient, the calculation of the volume of a truncated pyramid in hieratic followed by the equivalent in Egyptian hieroglyphs, taken from "Mathematischer Papyrus des Staatlichen Museums der Schönen Künste in Moskau" by W. W. Struve in Quellen und Studien zur Geschichte der Mathematik, Part A, Quellen, 1 (1930). I can't read hieratic (and I couldn't really make head or tail of the rest, either, although at least I could read the numbers and fractions, I guess).
