france-eesti wrote:If anyone comes from here, what is the word in English to mention a story that has more than one book?
3 books: a trilogy, 3 episodes... ? Or is there another word better than "episode" (that makes me think of Dallas épisodes)
X books: a saga, X épisodes, X stories, X books... ?

Then how do you call every book individually that is part of a saga (or a series) ?
You'd just say "book". To number them, you can go with either "book 1" or "the first book". "Volume" is more a word you'd use for a book in a reference series, like an encyclopedia or a dictionary. And since the word exists in English, "tome" is usually used as a more formal/literary synonym for "book". It implies the book is large and scholarly.france-eesti wrote:how do you name this notion of "tome" ?
