Feminise everything

Postby kwalijkje » 2012-01-17, 12:26

I was talking to my Colombian friend, a gay man, and he was telling me that it was not unusual for him and his friends to use the feminine gender for almost everything (mostly by using the feminine article and -a ending) when they were camping it up in their speech. I asked some friends who speak other languages as well, and it seems to happen in other places as well: Slovak, Portuguese. I was wondering if this is also the case in the Netherlands?

A short and simple answer: no.

Dutch doesn't really fascillitate such usage of the language in the first place. Second it's deadly annoying! I'm gay myself and do really loathe this type of behaviour by gay men who act feminine.

I don't know any gayman who does this.

I only know people saying "meid" (gal) to feminine gays.
