Translation game - version

Postby france-eesti » 2016-03-16, 9:33

Bonjour à tous !
Just trying to launch this game and see if it works and if it gets followers... That's the opposite of the initial translation game. Thus, let's write a sentence in French and try to translate it into English. :D

OK, I'll give the first kick :

The workers were on a strike Wednesday to protest against laws on the employment (dunno if "employment laws" sound fine)

Whatever's said and claimed, the world leaves us long before we've gone for good.

The gut-wrenching paranoia made her imagine an immense green spot appear on the MRI, a witness to the sourness that dominated her.

(This is actually harder than the original game. :darn: )

He raised his eyes to the sky, that was visible through a thoughtully-settled slit of the ceiling. It was midnight. Era II, the age of chaos, had just started.

Milda calmed down by drinking a bottle of remaining liquor she has kept for a day of glory. Never she has been this far from that glory :hmm:

And yet there's the prejudice - the big one, the well-established one, the one as hard as iron. :?:

Ah, the archipelago! My, that's a wonderful place! Except when it's loathsome. Then, it's wonderfully loathsome. It is worth a visit, anyway. Possibly one way only.

A German study shows that people who take vitamin C are more active.

I was told this legend by a very dear friend one winter evening

I won't scatter your sorrows in an indifferent mother (? mère?). As far as I'm concerned, you're not made of ashes. You're all made of diamonds.

I see his shut, frozen face again. I remember his prolonged silence, his killing little phrases.

Second-rate freshness: How absurd! There is only one kind of freshness - the first - which is at the same time the last.

There are people wandering around in/on my street. I hear them whispering at night.
