"פריחה על מרצדס"

Postby Psi-Lord » 2005-04-14, 19:09

I was tagging my mp3 files and there's one by Sarit Hadad called <span dir="rtl">"פריחה על מרצדס"</span>. I searched high and low around the web, but I couldn't find out how to romanise (and translate) the title. Can someone give me a hand at that?

TIA!

"Frecha al Mercedes "
Frecha means something like "bad girl"
al Mercedes means on Mercedes .

(frecha comes from German by the way ,but no one use frech any more ,just frecha ,
I gess this is cos boys are good and gulz are bad ,so no need for boy version of the word :0P ).

by the way ,thats not the name of the song ,thats the first line ,
and its "Frecha be-Mertzedes" ,not Al-Mertzedes .
(frecha in a Mercedes ,not on a Mercedes ),
the name is "ba chom shel Tel-Aviv" ( בחום של תל אביב )

I usually don`t like Sarit Chadad ,but thats actually a nice song .

I have that song. I could send it to you if you can't find it on the internet.

Thanks a lot, NulNuk! The file I downloaded from eMule seems to have been recorded from the radio, and the person who recorded it probably hadn't much info on the song. It's funny that, now that I know the name of the song, I can clearly hear the radio presenter saying it in the end of the song, hehe.

Thanks, StrawberryWine, but, if this was for me, I do have the file myself—I was just lacking the romanisation of the name (since the file I got had the name in Hebrew only, and I prefer to rename my files to Latin script). Do you happen to have other songs by her that you might recommend, though? I've got just a couple, but I'm pretty much just throwing her name into eMule and downloading anything that comes my way, hehe.

Yes, there are some other good songs but the one I would recommend is "na'ara mibait tov" (can't remember the song's name) and it's the first line - a girl from a good family.

Frecha !!!

Postby yossi » 2005-08-12, 13:39

Mmmmm, seems like Sarit is becoming our most international star. I'm not sure if I like that. I like the song though, I think it was written by Ivri Lider. Frecha is a bimbo girl, the female perfect company of ars or even a frech even if that's not that usual.

I think the song is called Bachof shel Tel Aviv (On the beach of Tel Aviv). Interesting lyrics ;)

But I still prefer our greatest Frecha of all times, Ofra Haza :)

Eyn li rosh lemilim arukot ;)

Yosko :)

Okay, it's bachom and not al hachof
Like I said before, I don't like Sarit :P

שלום חבר!
Finally another Ofra fan! You don't even know how much I love her singing, beauty.. And well, just every detail of her.
She has been my greatest idol for as long as I can remember. And may I also suggest the song Ballad for the King, which is very good =)

בשלום.

Frecha is not bimbo , is insolent ,impudent ,sausy ,cheeky ,bold ,daring ,bad guirl ,
same as in Iydish and German frech ,only in Hebrew there
is only a female vercion ,and no one use frech any more ,(though it was used allso long ago).

bimbo is zinzonet ,its not the same ! .

I never said frech is used nowadays. was just meaning to be ethymological. I gave the most suitable pair for the noun frecha, which would be "ars" very used in Israel now even if this last ones usually denotes a way of dressing and a specific taste for some kind of music :P

Anyways, don't know exactly what Bimbo means in English but my exact definition for Frecha would be some kind of shallow and superficial girl who also cares a lot about the way she looks and who's always trying to impress people with rather a posh pose. Is there a word in English for that, then? ;)

Wouldn't be a zinzonet more like a Barbie girl?

I believe the correct english translation of frecha would be "insolent".

BTW: Yosko, how is it in Yerushalayim?

the definition is insolent ,and your definision for frecha
is completly wrong ,frecha has nothing to do with it ,
frecha is just the same as חוצפנית only in Iydish (and German ),
the fact that "arsiym" go out with frechas ,don`t make them a conterpart word ,
the meanin of those words are completly diferent .
frecha=חוצפנית (insolent) ,frech =חוצפן .
ars= don`t have an exact definition for it in English ,
in SPanish it would be something like "grasa" but not exactly nither.
and Zinzonet means exaclty bimbo ,not better definition
than that ,wich is the exact definition .

a barby girl doesn`t have to be a bimbo ,so its not zinzonet ,
it doesn`t have an exact translation ,but its more
like a "stailistit" ,only with less brain .

Well. Why make it so complicated? If we know the meanining, we don't have to know the word.
