I'm getting more proficient in using my Hebrew dictionary, but keep stumbling over the abbreviations for grammatical terminology. Are there any good references for this sort of thing?
I was looking up the word לומרin lexilogos. Beside the translation there was the abbreviation פיקל. ?????
Thank you!

It's not פיקל, it's פ׳ קל. (the peh is followed by an apostrophe, as consonants never stand alone in Hebrew) That means it's a verb in the first group, paal, which is sometimes called the kal group.

Have a look at hebrew.ecott.ch and you'll find lots of resources, including an online abbreviation dictionary.

But I just looked up the word in Morfix online dictionary to see what it would say and noticed what had led you astray.

Good luck
