I promised some links but right now don't have enough time to check which ones are still active. So, just to begin with something, here are those that I am sure about.
1. Davar, a nice freeware Hebrew dictionary. It's predominantly focused on Biblical Hebrew since it includes, e.g., full text of Pirkei Avot or Online Bible, but you can create your own dictionary (and that one which is included, is useful as well). It's also in Spanish version. Go to
http://rain.prohosting.com/davar/
2. Another free application for learning Hebrew vocabulary is Foundation Stone at
http://foundationstone.com.au/ Very nice, you can create your own lists of words, and it includes Hebrew tutorial in PDF format (also accessible in html on the web site; the tutorial has a brief explanation of the origin of the Hebrew letters).
I strongly recommend either of the two freeware applications, or even better, both (that's what I did
)
3. If you want to learn phrases used by Israelis in their everyday life, go to Passing Phrase at
http://www.learnhebrew.org.il/ This is a very good site with many interesting phrases that you should know at least passively.
Includes the phrase in Hebrew (vocalization included), audio file with pronunciation, transliteration, English translation and explanation of the meaning.
Sorry, but that's all for tonight, I need to go to bed. More links some other night.
