What does this mean? 저리가~

Postby felix ahlner » 2005-08-02, 23:07

Hello. On another forum, someone had bought a t-shirt with Korean characters, and he wanted to know what it means. A picture of the shirt can be found here:

I deciphered it to be 저리가~!!
= jeo ri ga (?)

So, what does it mean, and what's with the tilde (the ~)?

All help is greatly appreciated!

If I'm not mistaken, it's something like 'Get out!', 'Go away!', 'Fuck off!'… I don't know the proper tone it conveys in Korean, though.

Either visual effect (Koreans and Japanese love such things), or to convey the idea of 'Jeori gaaaaaaaaa!!', if you know what I mean.

I think "Go away" is the best translation. It's not a swear word. It's okay to ignore ~ when you translate.

"Fuck off" would be something like "조까!"

I think both are acceptable - they're both nonstandard slangs anyway. And I said "'Fuck off' would be something like '조까!'" because Psi-Lord said
