What does this mean?

Postby TurtleJoe » 2018-01-14, 17:34

Hi all!
So my ex sent me this the other day. 넌 언제나 내 마음 속에 있을거야
What does it mean, the meaning behind it and how do you say it romanized?
I did run it through google translate. But have learned that it might not always be that accurate with certain languages. So I just want to make sure.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks for now!

/nen enceyna nay maum sok.ey iss.ul.ke.ya/
you.TOP always I.POSS heart inside-LOC be.PRSP.thing.COP.INF
"You will always be in my heart."

Google Translate can be a little dodgy for Korean, but it looks like it got it right this time. Their transcriptions are generally reliable. "Neon eonjena nae ma-eum sog-e iss-eulgeoya" is how you would transcribe this according to the official Revised Romanisation. (I use Yale above, which is a strict transliteration, because I'm a linguist by training.)

Ending a sentence with a verb in the bare infinitive form (as your ex did here) is an indicator of the so-called "intimate" speech level.
