vijayjohn wrote:So Antea, how are you using TY Icelandic? Have you started going through the first lesson? Are you learning about pronunciation? When should we start, and how would you like to progress (e.g. one unit a week? Two units a month? Read this section of this chapter by Tuesday, July 3?
)?
I have an old edition from 2008. And yes I have already started. The fact is that with Swedish, I really do intend to get to a B1 level. But I have already been in the country, and I think is easier to find natives speakers to practise with. The problem with Icelandic, for me, is that I don't have any real connection with the language, and in these cases is difficult for me to get much further.
So, my goal is simply to reach an A2 level (B1 would be great
), at least in reading and understanding. As for speaking, and I don't think it would be possible to achieve that goal, simply because I won't have any opportunity to practise the language.
As for my learning schedule, I am combining the books that I have. Now I am still in the lesson 1-2. But I should say that I am only trying to understand and notice the grammar rules, verbs, etc, but I am not memorising them.
Edit: As for the time schedule, I don't know. What do you think of one lesson per week?
And thank you all, for the resources you posted
Is somebody willing to join, and at least have a little brush up of Icelandic?
