So..
Eg = I
veit = know
ekki = not
hvernig = how
skal = can/shall
toppa = top
thad= that
bara = but
elska = (I) love
thig = you
Am I right? With my knowledge of Dutch, German and English, it's much clearly how I can translate it, just all the accents and a few different letters ( for th for example) make it a bit harder. What are the accents used for? Are they for pronounciation?

Eg = I
veit = know
ekki = not
hvernig = how
skal = [s]can/[/s]shall/will
toppa = top
thad= that
bara = just
elska = (I) love
thig = you

Well, they are own letters ;)

á = ou in Dutch jou or hou
ó = oo in Dutch dood
í = ie in Dutch iets
ý = ie in Dutch iets
é = ye in English yes
þ = th in English tooth
ð = th in English that
