German Study Group

Postby vijayjohn » 2018-07-02, 21:16

By popular demand (i.e. because księżycowy said I should ), I have decided to create a study group for German as well. I know we have at least two users besides myself who have expressed serious interest in currently studying German, plus we have a few native speakers who can (and regularly do!) help. Księżycowy is going through a textbook called Begegnungen, and I'm more than happy to follow him through it; let us know if you have any other thoughts/preferences regarding resources to go through. We are NOT required to all use the same resource(s)! Also, you can contact me if you don't have Begegnungen, I promise.

It is also my understanding that księżycowy has been proceeding at a rate of 1-2 chapters per week. Does that sound about right, księżycowy? Would you like me to work through the exercises with you, check your answers, and/or (help) answer questions for you or something? :) Danke!

Ja, das ist richtig. Zwei.

All of it, and more!

Define "more."

Sehr gut! In all honesty, you seem to have been doing really well with that. :)

Where exactly are you in that book right now? Somewhere in Kapitel 3?

All right, so the first listening-based exercise I see is A3 in Kapitel Zwei. Would you like me to start by helping you through that? :)

Hey I might go through Begegnungen B1. Wanna join me Vijay? Or is that too much Begegnungen for you?

I really wish there were premade flashcards/decks for Begegnungen, it's a pain to input them all into Anki myself. The vocabulary lists per lesson are quite hefty.

Pretty much. What are the chances I can get you to make an A1+ anki deck for me, Vijay?

How am I supposed to make you an Anki deck if I don't even have Anki?

*mutters something about Hokkien, księżycowy, and slave-drivers (then goes off on a tangent about Chadian Arabic because slave-drivers -> slaves -> slavery in Chad -> Chadian Arabic which Vijay is super into)* :silly:

You don't need the software. You can make a deck on the browser form of Anki. Therefore, there's nothing to be had, or bitch about. :P

I'm just not sure about the sharing part.

Yours truly,
Slave-Driver
