Transcribing and translating الحدود

Postby eskandar » 2018-04-27, 4:55

Anyone is welcome to join in as we collectively transcribe and translate the Syrian film الحدود
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IO37mcasZk&t=786s

The first 15 minutes are available here with English subtitles, so maybe we can begin by transcribing those, which will be easier. Just to get us started I've tried to transcribe the first 30 seconds of dialogue (0:00-2:50 in the Youtube video).

It's cool that you got it started! Here are my 5 cents to the piece you transcribed.

ضيعة, مدري - I didn't know these words, just tried to spell them how they sound in http://livingarabic.com and they were there. And الضيعة is preceded with ها which means "this" as an adjective and is universal for all genders and numbers.

Why a question on انطلق ? It exists in MSA and fits the context very well.

Next piece, 2:50 - 3:03

OK, I decided to try and transcribe some more anyway even though it means I have to make up words out of thin air because I have no clue what words these people are saying at some points. :P
