Catalan newspapers

Postby Passe-Cale » 2006-01-10, 18:02

Hi everyone,

Does any of you have any catalan newspaper website to suggest to me? I am able to read catalan (most of it anyway, using my french and spanish as a basis) and I would like to try reading a newspaper regularly, something that speaks of national issues of Catalunya but also other things.
De préférence a newspaper that is widely distributed and not too obscure (like the newspaper of some remote village)...

Thank you :D

I'd suggest Avui, during my holidays in Catalonia, I even read a printed issue (not everything, but most things) and I liked it a lot!
Please correct my mistakes!

I suggest Vilaweb, it is an online newspaper, and it doesn't talk just about Catalonia, but about all Catalan-speaking lands. In this point it is different from Avui and other newspapers.

And I think news are much easier to understand and shorter. They publish some "special dossiers" in English from time to time when there is an important subject to talk about for people around the world who doesn't know Catalan and want to know about it.

Also, due to its online format (and not the online version of a printed newspaper, like Avui is), most of they news have links to other websites, and this enriches the news a lot.

El poble orellut mai no serà vençut.. mmm O millor, una cançoneta reivindicativa:

no volem ser una regió de barna
no volem ser dialecte ocupat
volem volem volem
volem el nostre estandard
volem volem volem
ser llengua amb dignitat..

so, whatever...
