When to learn Catalan if one already speaks Spanish?

What if someone already speaks Spanish (something like B2 when it comes to verbal communication), but is still learning it?
At what point could it be especially useful to start learning Catalan, too?
this is a reboot

Before moving to Barcelona, for instance?

Sure, that would be one important Q/A perspective :).
But the one I had in mind is:
At what point of the Spanish learning process would it be especially helpful to start with Catalan (when one has a reason for learning it, too)?
this is a reboot

Generally it's recommendable to only start learning a related language once you're around the B levels in the first one, and the more advanced you are in the first language the easier the second one will be and the less risk of mixing it with the first one or getting rusty. Or at least the learning experience is likely to be less frustrating than taking them both on at a beginner or false beginner level. Other than that it doesn't matter, learn it when you want to. Catalan is "useful" at any level of Spanish knowledge, including zero Spanish knowledge, just like any other living language.
