მონსტრი (მონსტრის is the genitive) is a loanword, probably from Russian монстр. It seems to be the preferred translation of the cognate in other languages, e.g., the movie Monsters University is მონსტრების უნივერსიტეტი in Georgian. ურჩხული is the native word - or maybe an older loanword, but it looks native.
Let's say უცნაური strange, exotic.
