Whatever the origin, this is one of my LEAST favourite phrases. It's right up there with "It's all good."

Yes, I find the phrase still distasteful as 'man' or 'dope.' Thank goodness 'dope' faded away with time and only experienced a month of usage!

Sorry there's nothing to get over :)

On the other hand, coming out with comments such as 'Ebonics sucks' are unappreciated in a forum like this when all variations with in the English language are as legitimate as each other (no matter how much you don't like the syntax or the diction used).

Now I no longer believe in Intelligent Design, since some of us obviously never developed further from the Neandertal.

I still maintain, as do many people, that 'Ebonics' is as legitimate a phenomenon as is Chicano English or 'White English'. These are no more than gross exaggerations and racist terms with no linguistic backing. Good luck trying to prove otherwise....

Btw, it's not a question of liking or disliking anything, since Ebonics doesn't exist. Black English exists in some peoples' speech, but this isn't to be confused with Ebonics.
