If you go off the beaten path a bit you'll come across far less tourists. Rome would have admittedly been much better without so many tourists, but what are you going to do? Maybe I'm used to it, being from Florida. I was actually expecting it to be worse than it was, to the extent I was wondering if I would come across any actual Romans in Rome.

I'm fortunate because I have family in smaller towns and then friends in Italy as well, so you get to see a lot of stuff the typical tourist doesn't.

Anyway, some corrections to what you just recently wrote, this is what the proper way to say it would be:

I'm starting to study English next year when I must choose the language I'm going to learn. I've been studying French, but now I would be starting English as well. The English grammar is simple enough compared to Italian. But reading in English is difficult, because a lot of words have diversity of pronunciations.

I kind of just wanted to show how a native would say what you just wrote. I wouldn't correct particular pieces because it would start taking things out of context. But just to give you a general idea, since you still confuse such things as adjective placement (English grammar instead of the italian order grammatica inglese) for example.

hai visto Taormina...è bella, non è vero? io ho dei parenti che abitano nel centro...di posti stupendi in Italia ci sono...però molti italiani non li conoscono...è davvero un peccato...ogni cittadino o paesino ha una storia antica...l'unica cosa è che ci vuole molto tempo per visitare i musei e tutti momumenti...credo che sia amata e apprezzata più dagli stranieri che dai noi italiani...

I have never been to Sicily, but one day...
I know Rome quite well, and Naples, Pompei, Sorrento. Also Florence, Venice and Milan. Last time I was in Italy I wanted to go to Ravenna per vedere i mosaici pero c'è stato uno sciopero delle ferrovie e non era possibile.
I have noticed on recent visits that a lot more Italians in the tourist spots speak good English now...

Penso che Firenze sia una città eccezionale, perché là tutti sanno parlare inglese (almeno un po'). Altrove in Italia poche persone lo sanno.

I think Florence is an exceptional city, because all the people there can speak English (at least a bit). Everywhere else in Italy few people speak English.

Certe volte … è difficile capirsi fra noi italiani … per via dei dialetti … l’inglese pochi ancora lo sanno bene … e quelli che lo sanno di solito non sono in giro … l’unica cosa che bisognerebbe migliorate per me è la preparazione degli insegnanti … certi professori dovrebbero studiare di più … come si fa ad imparare una lingua se anche la persona che ha il compito di insegnartela non la conosce bene? … ( esempio: confondere and con end )
Credo che sia stato proprio questo a farmi decidere di studiare francese …
I miei amici studiavano canzoni e brani a memoria… niente grammatica e lettura… speriamo che le cose migliorano …. Ma non so … ora con la riforma Moratti … è obbligatorio studiare due lingue …. Per me sarà peggio…. Ciao!

Nel mio paese, ossia in Polonia, il livello della conoscenza della lingua inglese è più basso che in Italia. Allora la situazione in Polonia è simile (ma in Polonia non ci sono dialetti diversi che renderebbero capirsi difficile).
Dal resto.. grazie al fatto che pochi italiani sanno inglese molto bene, la mia conoscenza della lingua italiana risulta più utile

In my country, i.e. in Poland, the level of skills in English is lower than in Italy. So the situation in Poland is similar (but in Poland there are no varied dialects which make the communication difficult).
After all... thanks to the fact that few Italians speak English very well, my knowledge of Italian turns out to be more useful

In qualche liceo - sì. Ma io l'ho studiato nell'Istituto Italiano di Cultura per oltre tre anni. I corsi dell'Istituto mi piacciono. Gli insegnanti sono italiani oppure polacchi che perfettamente sanno l'italiano. I corsi sono organizzati nel modo tradizionale (non ci sono film, doppi insegnanti, nuove idee, ecc.), ma grazie agli insegnanti le condizioni per imparare la lingua sono ottimi.
