Over here across the pond, we just say 'cooking spray'. As I have only heard of 'Pam' when watching American media, I think this could be an example of a brand becoming so synonymous with a product that people just call it by the brand.
I know a big example of this is 'Advil' as I have heard "I need to take an Advil" from various tv shows but I haven't heard "I need to take some ibuprofen" which is the drug under the 'Advil' brand.
