No, I find it too much trouble. The only time I swim in a pool is when I'm on vacation and staying at a hotel which has one.

The person after me hates having wet hair in cold weather.

I dislike having wet hair anyway. But it's true it's worse in winter than in summer.

What's the person after me's favourite kind of hat?

Thanks! Interesting explanation, I never knew of this difference.

I never wear any hat, so I really don't know.

The person after me often reads feminine magazines in other languages (about fashion and women issues, I don't know if it's called like this :hmm: )

Really? This is so comfortable and pleasant! You should give it a try! I have more hats than shoes and really I rarely go out without a hat (and YES I have a beret, a yellow one and a "Rasta" one :-)

No, Actually I'm too lazy for them. I only read books.

What's the person after me's pronostic for the issue of the Trump VS Biden match?

If I had to bet it would be on Biden (he has a definite edge in almost all polls), but it's too early to say Trump is finished.

The person after me is currently reading at least three books at the same time.

Yes, I'm currently reading the last Chris Carter book and two different Good Night Books [or should I say bedtime books] for the kids.

The person after me prefers to read romantic books to thrillers.
Please correct my mistakes. I'd really appreciate it ❤

Better: either "prefers romances[*] to thrillers" or "would rather read romance novels than thrillers".

[*] "Romantic books" means any books that are romantic. If you mean specifically books which are in the romance genre, we would call those "romance novels" or just "romances".

Actually, I don't really care for either genre. I'm more into litfic and scifi.

The person after me visited a cemetery today.

Not at all. Romantic books bore me to death, I need the tension of thrillers to keep me interested :)

The person after me enjoys playing cards but poker isn't their favourite game.

It depends. In general: yes. Because I'm so easily scared. But I liked Sue Grafton and Nicci French when I was younger. And I don't particularly like hetero-romantic novels.

The person after me owns a Miffy-book.

Corrections appreciated.

A little late noting this, but "different from" is acceptable in my dialect; personally, it's what I prefer. "Better" complicates things, but in that case I'd use both prepositions: "different from (or better than) animals".

I'll point out that, in formal contexts, you'd be advised to use the same the construction for both parts of the comparison, which is called parallelism. In the rephrases of your sentence, that would be: "TPAM prefers reading romantic books to reading thrillers." and "TPAM would rather read romance novels than read thrillers." The remaining one, "TPAM prefers romances to thrillers" is already parallel.

It's been years since I last played cards, and I've never tried poker. :noclue:

Nope. The style reminds me of Hello Kitty.

And I also get up at the same time every morning, on week-ends as well. I can hardly remain up after 22:30 and in bed after 7:00.

The person after me's working with Microsoft Teams and hates it with all their guts.

Do even reactionaries like being called reactionaries?
