I have no idea what that is. Here ciabatta is just an Italian style of sandwich bread. Oh, and "chives" are what we call cebolinha.

Oh, cebolinha is ubiquitous.

The ciabata I had is not a sandwich , the calabresa is amid the mass (?) and as frosting (?) .

:hmm:

I would say "mixed in(to the dough)" and "used as a topping" (or "spread on top" is it's fluid enough). But this doesn't make it any clearer to me what calabresa is. AFAIK, we don't have any foodstuffs here named for Calabria.

There's nothing on Wikipedia, Google Translate gives me "pepperoni", but it's NOT pepperoni, and this site

http://www.teclasap.com.br/vocabulario- ... e-pochete/

gives some suggestions. I used "calabresa" following the convention of using the original as a loanword. I've put italics on it so you know you have to say the word with a gringo accent.

Is this what you mean? If so, then when you wrote

does this mean that the sausage is chopped up and mixed into the dough as well as placed on top like a topping?

Do you guys not have Calabrese salami in your deli sections at the supermarket? It's a pretty common type of salami here.

Maybe? I don't recall seeing it. Most salami here is "Genoa salami" and I wouldn't reduce that to "Genoa" in informal usage but to "salami".

ETA: Courtesy of Wikipedia, a list of common salami varieties: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salami#Salami_varieties. (Note that "Calabrese" is not listed.)

Probably. "chopped up" is not exactly what I think I would call it:

Based on that picture, I would probably say something like the Calabrese sausage is chopped/cut up and mixed into the dough, or maybe that the Calabrese sausage is grated and mixed into the dough. Even though there are some pieces on top, personally I wouldn't consider that as a topping or a layer of frosting. (Of course we use frosting usually to refer to a layer of icing sugar placed on top of a cake, cupcake or sometimes muffin.)

That looks hideous and not like anything called "ciabat(t)a" I've ever had before.

Getting us back on track:
The person after me thinks going for a walk too soon after eating is bad for their digestion.

It's the opposite, I think going for a walk right after a meal is a good way to help digestion and avoid blood sugar spikes (for those of us with diabetes).

The next person will tell us their childhood dream job, if they had one.

The person after me has just signed up a very important document today.

Signed up is the equivalent of to enroll or to join. So you generally would sign up for something. One exception I can think of for when you wouldn't use for with sign up would be in a situation like this:
- So did you write your name down on the list?
- Yeah I just signed (myself) up.

It depends on who I'm debating to/against.

The person after me got tired of bad internet connections for listening to music and switched back to good old FM radio.

I was exhausted before I even left the house.

The person after me takes naps at work.

No, though I do notice vanity license plates. My parents like to point them out, so I probably picked up the habit from them.

The person after me listens to Christmas songs in the middle of July.
