Thought this would be a fun thread.
Stereotypes are a thing and have been a thin for a long time. Most of the time have some truth behind them, but ofc a ton of people don't fit them. So, what are stereotypes you fit and those you don't?
I'll start:
European stereotypes I fit in general:
- I like football;
- I like coffee;
- I speak more than my native language;
- I am thin.
Portuguese stereotypes I fit:
- I like football (already said it, but had to add it again for extra emphasis since it applies here as well);
- I have brown hair and eyes;
European stereotypes I DON'T fit:
- Eh... not being pretentious?
- I am not "effeminate". Many Americans seem to think European guys are effeminate and even play a game called "gay or European"... like what
Portuguese stereotypes I DON'T fit:
- I am not short. I am 1,83m(6 foot) tall.
- I don't drink wine;
- I can't tan very well and don't go to the beach;
- I am Atheist and not a Catholic. In fact, I am not even baptised.
Male stereotypes I fit:
- Again, I like football;
- I like video games;
- I like metal music;
- I like beer.
Male stereotypes I DON'T fit:
- I am not a player nor am I a womaniser;
- I'm not an adonis or super muscular;
- I am not very social or "alpha";
- I don't know much or care much about cars and other vehicles. I don't even have a license yet;
- I am not a "dudebro" even though I go to the gym occasionally. I don't give a damn about the "bro culture" or whatever that crap is;
- I am not very athletic nor am I good at sports and physical activity in general.
Nerdy/geeky stereotypes I DON'T fit:
- I DON'T work in IT;
- I am not good at maths or physics at all;
- I have never been a great student;
- I don't care about Marvel, DC or Star Wars;
- I am not obese or overweight at all.
Nerdy/geeky stereotypes I fit:
- I like video games;
- I like anime/manga, although not that much anymore;
- I like pro wrestling.
Young people stereotypes I DON'T fit:
- I don't like going out to nightclubs and bars at night;
- I don't go to concerts or festivals(which also is a stereotype for metalheads).
What about you? Looking forward to your answers.
