That's fine. I kind of assume it is my thing. :P Well, mine and maybe a few others' (looking at you, opipik).

Now I'm kind of leaning towards keeping the list, though, since it makes it easier to track which languages songs already have or haven't been nominated in. But I still haven't voted! :silly:

It's fine with me. I intend to boycott the list if it stays anyway.

As for obscure languages, you might have competition this next FSC. I've been looking through Chechen songs on YT. :P

Oh, trust me, I always have competition these days. :P In fact, the last time my entry was in the most obscure language may have been July 2016, unless you think Tok Pisin, Sami, Lithuanian, or São Tomean Portuguese is more obscure than Odia. :P (If you think one of those is more obscure, then the last time my entry was in the most obscure language was an even longer time ago!).

To be honest, I sometimes wonder if some people pick songs just for the weirdness factor. :P

It's confirmed for you at least.

Sometimes I do; sometimes it's a song I like and have already listened to, since I regularly listen to songs in other languages - both those I study and ones I don't.

Well, it's not just for the weirdness factor! I also do try to pick songs that I happen to like. Some of these are songs I've known for years (I've known the first three songs I ever nominated since I discovered them on I think Encarta 1996. The first one I nominated was in Sundanese, the second was in Yoruba, and the third was in Zulu. I really love the Sundanese one; the other two, less so).

I got ready for the FSC early! :silly:

Perhaps this has already been considered (and disregarded?) but what about keeping the Used Songs list off-site? For example, as a Google Docs spreadsheet? It would be much easier to update it and sort it by language (or any other category) and multiple people could do it so updating it wouldn't depend on one person only.

It might not be as pretty as the main/old list with flags and all that but it would certainly be more functional, and it might be easier to search for something there as well. Ok, it would require one extra click from UniLang to the spreadsheet, but surely that shouldn't be too much of a hassle (most of the time, I know that sometimes even one exra click can be super annoying ...).

I don't see anything wrong with this idea.

It's possible. Let's let this poll finish up, and I could start a new one about keeping the list on-site or off-site. I have a Google (Docs) account, so it won't be too much trouble to port the list over to a Google Docs spreadsheet, and I guess if anyone else wants write access, I can share it with them. For read access, I can just make the document publicly available and post the link here.

After a poll ends, the option you voted for should be in bold.

After a poll ends, the option you voted for should be in bold.

And during the poll you can see the percentages, and your option you voted for will have the circle thing in it (if you are allowed to revote, otherwise it's as Luís said).

12 votes, and yet only 5 of us said anything....

Well, I guess y'all can keep your list. But I don't intend to do jack shit with it. Feel free to kick me out of the contest, or make me select a new song, if I happen to pick a song already on there, but that would be a shame concidering I want to participate. And I can't guarantee I would want or be able to select a new songs.

It's a testament to one of the advantages of a poll! :silly:
