Mongo a.k.a. Nkundo, Mongo-Nkundu, Lomongo, or Lonkundu is a Bantu language spoken over a wide area along the Congo River in the DRC. This is a video I've actually already posted before of Bobongo, a musical performance for the National Gungu festival in Kinshasa performed by speakers of Mongo. I'm just listening to the first song in this one (plus the instrumental intro):

This is a nonsensical African (not sure what part of Africa exactly, but I presume this at least includes the Congo) lullaby called "Amina." There are various theories as to where the lyrics actually came from, including that it is actually just a combination of French (for the most part) and a little bit of Malagasy that's been bastardized to the point of becoming meaningless:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCquKGq2Sc4
The proposal I'm familiar with regarding French and Malagasy says the lyrics were originally:
Amina! Amina!
Tu as donné
à Le Zimba
Cela a a
Allez matory ‘se Pascaline a! (va dormir, Pascaline)
Zimbaoe Jean Claude
Sispé (Suspect)
à la ronde, à la ronde jusqu’en bas

It's in the comments to the video and includes an explanation of the names in the song that I'm too lazy to read right now. :P

The recording in this video is an introduction to the talking drums of the Kele people of the DRC along the Congo River (I'm not sure how old this recording is). The notes of the talking drums essentially imitate the tones of words in the Kele language. I've heard of talking drums for years, but this is the first time I have ever heard an example (or seen a clear example even of a group of people that actually use them), and it's nice to see such a clear explanation of how they work. The recording ends with an example of a full message on a Kele talking drum:

This is a sample of drumming from the Congo (I'm guessing from the DRC, though I'm not sure). Apparently, it's called "Tembo Ndia Kongo." Tembo is the name of a Bantu language spoken in the DRC, but I'm not sure it has anything to do with this particular performance. (Tembo also means 'elephant' in Swahili):

Ngbandi is a dialect continuum of the Ubangian family. Sango, the lingua franca of the Central African Republic, is a creole but gets most of its lexicon from Ngbandi. Though spoken in the CAR, Ngbandi is also spoken across the border in the DRC; in fact, it may have more speakers in the DRC than in the CAR. It is also the language of Mobutu, the DRC's second president. This is a song in Ngbandi, apparently called "Nzoni" meaning 'love'(?), but I'm not sure which variety or which side of the border:

Sango is a creole based on Ngbandi and the national language and lingua franca of the Central African Republic, co-official with French. This is an evangelical Christian song in Sango I once posted on the creole songs thread called "Nzapa a iri mbi" (I believe "Nzapa" means 'God'):

The Zande languages are a small group of languages that are not clearly related to any other languages. They were once considered part of the Ubangian family, but now, they are considered to possibly be Niger-Congo. Nzakara a.k.a. Ansakara, N'sakara, Sakara, or Zakara is a Zande language spoken mainly in the eastern CAR and to a small extent across the border in the DRC. This is a song in Nzakara from the CAR, apparently a political satire from 1967 by an artist named Lamadani:

Yakoma (a.k.a. Gbandji?) is a Ngbandi language spoken pretty much right in the middle of the Ubangi River, mainly in the Central African Republic but also across the border in the DRC (it's pretty much spoken on the border, like other Ngbandi varieties). As such, it is mutually intelligible to a large extent with all other Ngbandi language varieties. This is a traditional Yakoma (Christian?) praise song called "Gbadouma":

West Banda languages is a Banda language spoken mainly in the Central African Republic and, to a lesser extent, in South Sudan. The Dakpa people in the Central African Republic speak a Banda language that Ethnologue classifies as a West Banda variety. This is a Dakpa song for teenage boys who are about to be circumcised:

As someone who, when pushed, would identify heavy metal as the genre of music I like the most, I was not expecting how much I would come to like samba. I'm really, really starting to like samba...

One more song from the Central African Republic...Central Banda is a dialect continuum of the Banda languages spoken in parts of the same countries as West Banda. One Central Banda variety is called Bambari, and apparently, one subvariety of Bambari in turn is called Linda and is spoken right next door to where the Dakpa people live. This Linda song, "Eci ameya," has something to do with twins, but I don't quite understand what:
