Actually, I quite like Anouk's song. Definitely, the best ballad together with the Italian one.

The rehearsals started today. Only one week left :bounce:

(Potential spoiler) Ukraine will have a giant on the stage! (image)

Spoiler. A Finnish performer and her backup singer will kiss on stage. Too bad this looks so Katy Perry and nothing like Serbia in 2007, but okay.

I hope Ukraine wins, and not Holland or Denmark.

I just watched/listened to Romania and this is the first time I've actually ever laughed out loud by myself at an ESC entry

The results of this year's ESC according to a Norwegian jury. Not at all biased.

Denmark's entry is much, much better than Sweden's...

And yeah, where the heck is the Netherlands? OK their song is an either hit or miss, but still, it is a good song. Like they said in the Swedish 'before ESC' programme: this is real music, as opposed to ESC music that doesn't really have a life outside of that contest.

In a bowling center.

I'm so surprised to read and hear everywhere that the Netherlands will do well because I think this whole song is so incredibly boring. But other years they also said we would do well and that has never brought us to the final, so I mustn't get too hopeful...

I watched a Swedish science documentary yesterday and they ran this year's entries through a hit analyser software, and the software picked Hungary's entry as the most hit-ty. :)

I'm getting used to the fact that Denmark will win, though it would be nice if it weren't so obvious. :P

Norway is my favorite, followed by Sweden, Montenegro, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece and Hungary.

The award for the most fan-overrated song goes to San Marino. I have no idea why people like it so much. :indiff:

Oh
Rybak, Lena, Loreen, Emily dF...
a new trend: a gimmicky song is overhyped, and already in February we know the winner.

ESC used to be excited,
not anymore.
not with this kind of over-hype-ing.

If I were the chief of ESC committee,
people wouldn't be able to hear songs prior to the competition,
not even the juries.

Yeah, the Danish chick is going to win.
And this predictability from the very start,
makes ESC dull and appalling.

They reduced it to a show for grannies and 5year olds,
with no surprises, let alone suspense.

Since I haven't heard any of the songs prior to the show, except the Slovene one, they were all new to me and the Danish one was my favourite. :P So yeah, I guess it was kind of exciting - mainly just hoping Slovenia would qualify, though (not that I particularly liked the song, but just 'cause).

Last year was the first time that I knew of a favorite and that it won. I had no idea Rybak and Lena would win, and I was actually surprised when votes for them came ticking in. :yep: This year again I have songs that I think are better than the Danish one - tw or three to be more precise - and most people I know think it's good, but it's not their favorite. More people here like the Swedish song. Well, I'll guess we'll see Saturday.

We're going to the final! For the first time in maybe ten years or so! The first time that I couldn't see it, I even considered of not watching Saturday, it might help

I was volunteering, but the television was on in the other room and I have seen the compilation. I think Anouk did okay. She is so incredibly naive about the Eurovision Songcontest, but in a positive way, she won't make all the mistakes that all the others made, she just sang her song and she sang it well.

There wasn't actually a song yet that I liked in particular... I liked Denmark in the compilation best and I'm glad that I'll be able to see it in the final. Also, I hope Ukraine will have that tall man which I have heard about in the final too. And Belgium to the final, I was so surprised! That dance they were doing! I thought it was nice that they projected the text though

Here is everyone wondering how is it possible that the whole Balkans didn't qualify. Talking about how we're in Non-Qualified Movement once again, which is a Slovenian word for NAM. Although the polls weren't looking so bad for the Slovenian entry before the semifinals, Hannah looked so uptight on stage that even I wouldn't vote for her and I kind of liked the song. I'm only little disappointed because on Saturday when I go to this annual ESC afterparty, I'll have nothing to cheer for. But this has been happening for years now. Since the semifinals were introduced, we qualified into the finals only 2 out of 10 times. Other Balkans countries (Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro) just sent some jokes there this year, so no big surprise there. And maybe a proof that the "friendly ties" in the Balkans don't always work

Denmark was so relaxed on stage and it looked they're having so much fun. But the whole Scandinavia is very strong this year, I wouldn't be so sure Denmark will win. In any case, I'm hoping for a tight voting results. My prediction: 1. [flag]no[/flag] 2. [flag]dk[/flag] 3. [flag]sv[/flag]

Strange... I didn't really catch what countries didn't qualify yesterday, but I am susprirsed actually. Serbia was among my favorites, and Slovenia was pretty good too. Croatia was good quality-wise, but maybe a little bland. I don't care about Montenegro, though

I think the friendly ties between the Netherlands and Belgium may have worked well this time, I guess we've been lucky to be in the same semi-final.
