Oh, I see, so it was originally in Japanese.

No, the overtitles are Wenzhounese written in Hanzi, i.e. Etymologically correct Hanzi of the correspondent Wenzhounese words.

Oh OK, interesting!

I also found the original Mandarin version. The subtitles in the video itself are in Traditional Chinese, but you can also click on CC to turn on captions in either English or Korean (except for the part at the very end, where subtitles are only available in Chinese). It seems that the Wenzhounese version is slightly different from the original (so not a 100% faithful translation but rather adapted a bit):

Since it's sort off still holidays, and since I spent a lot of time in long haul transport, I started watching some things from the backlog, and one of them is Toradora (2008).

What's interesting about this romcom is that it starts off with the male and female protagonists becoming friends and promising to help each-other confess to their respective crushes. And I was really looking forward to a story like that, because hey, how often do you get anime that are about the friendship between a man and a woman?
Unfortunately I think it's not going to deliver. I'm at the end of the first arc now, and the hints of sexual tension between the protagonists are everywhere. Moreover, their crushes are just nominal, we don't get much in the way of why they like them.
