The Anime Thread

This is the anime thread. If you like anime, this is the thread for you. My favourite anime shows are Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell and Serial Experiments Lain.

I won't judge. Besides, I've never read or seen anything to do with it, so I'm not really in a position to do so anyway.

I used to watch a lot of anime, then I took an arrow on my knee got married and my wife simply dislikes the sound of Japanese language.

But before that she watched Death Sudoku with me

Are dubbed versions really bad in Brazil or something?

They are, but I actually don't have a choice, since I have no cable TV or whatever they show them. I watch episodes my friends lend me.

But the things REALLY bad are the tranlated dubbed opening themes, except the ones SoBadThatAreGood, like that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1r_B3zqmN0

I think you mean SoBadItsGood. Anyway, can't you download dubbed versions?

Wow, long time I don't listen this music... I used to watch Saint Seiya and I remember this opening theme at Rede Manchete. Only now I realized how horrible it is
Talib wrote:Anyway, can't you download dubbed versions?

Yes, but it's harder to find, as most Brazilians prefer the Japanese dubbing with subtitles rather than the Portuguese dubbing.

Yes, but downloading (bad) dubbeb anime - that my wife still won't have interest to watch with me - when I have a long list of movies and series and western animation and books and magazines and google reader and unilang and... I think "go out a make some exercise" would even be on top of the list, but I'm too lazy these days...

At first, knowing our dear thread starter, I took a skeptical approach to posting. Mostly cause I thought this thread was just more BS. But I'll finally post.

I've been known to dabble in some anime and manga. I haven't watched/read any in a while though. But as luck has it I'm getting a hankering for some again, so I'll post if anything strikes my fancy.
