Which movie(s) have you watched lately?

Postby ichliebeDE » 2009-06-21, 12:50

I guess this thread is for us movie lovers and everyone who would like to talk a bit about and possibly discover more movies to watch. :)

Lately I watched "Bringing Up Baby (1938)", a classic screwball comedy as they say. It's not really my humor, at times it's annoying. I only really laught once, heh. I would rate it 7/10.

So which movie(s) have you watched lately? :)

We've just started watching Little Dorrit, which is based off the book by Charles Dickens.

Psycho. That movie is pretty great. Walk on Water was not as good as it could have been. Also, I re-watched Philadelphia, and that movie is still fantastic.

Man, I hate those movies. I mean, I used to like the game, but the movies are simply crap. It pissed me off so much spending my money going to the cinema to watch Resident Evil I. It doesnt even deserve the money of renting it.

X-men Origins - Are they sure they're writing Wolverine and not Hugh Jackman? Gentle, caring Wolverine? Wf???

Km. 0 - A ridiculous soft-porn-with-a-heart flick from Spain. But at least it's entertaining.

Slumdog Millionaire, and yes, the part of the lyrics of the ending song that were in Spanish surprised me.

Oh! I want to see "UP" :D

The last movie I saw was Around the World in 80 Days. I didn't watch it till the end, so that probably doesn't count. Donnie Darko also came on TV the other day. But I didn't see it from the beginning. I've watched that movie a few times, but all in bits and pieces. Never all at once. The last movie I watched from the beginning till the end was Seven Pounds. I didn't get the plot till half way through, but it was okay. :)

I just got done watching the Beast with a Billion Backs, a Futurama movie that I taped last weekend and just haven't had time to watch. It was quite funny. :D Yesterday I watched Bender's Big Score, another Futurama movie, that I also taped last weekend. Hehe.

Just recently, I watched Adrift In Tokyo (転々; Ten Ten). Quite a peculiar film about two men going for a walk around Tokyo.

I saw a trailer for Tokyo Sonata a while back, but then I forgot about it , I'll be seeing that film soon.

Next Wednesday, I'll be watching The Hangover at the cinema. I've really been looking forward to that one.

Those Futurama movies look pretty good, ILE, I'll have to track then down sometime. :D

The last time I went to the cinema I watched "Ander", a film about a Basque farmer who falls in love with his farm hand. It's been called "The European answer to Brokeback Mountain" (which I haven't seen) and I liked it a lot. Ending a bit unrealistic, but nice. Plus they spoke Basque (and Spanish). I watched it with Dutch subtitles and the only thing that was a bit stupid was that in the subtitles there were no indications of whether people spoke Basque or Spanish. I mean, they're very different languages, but sometimes people switched languages constantly and it was important to understand who in the scene could follow the conversation. Reading subtitles, distinguishing two languages you don't know and following the plot was a bit demanding at times. :P
