Yup exactly! Although Episode 1 of season 6 has made me question everything Melisandre has done so maybe it will tie in with Shireen's death. I'm not sure though.

Yep, and I really want to see the next one now and not have to wait until tomorrow...

Meera wrote:JON SNOW LIVES!!!!!!!

Did that really need a spoiler tag? :P It's like the most predicable thing that's happened in the entire series.

Yes, it did. People posted that without spoilers elsewhere and people went crazy.

No, I just put it in Spoiler tags so no one gets mad. In case they really didn't know Jon Snow is alive. :P I actually got yelled at on Twitter for tweeting it out.

I really liked the third episode too, although I thought Everyone in the show (Not the audience) should have had a bigger reaction to Jon Snow being alive. I mean do people in the Night's Watch see a dead person come back to life everyday?! They acted like it was a normal day. The one that was the most shocked was Melisandre.

It's a very popular show that's apparently hard not to talk about!

Maybe we should make a seperate GOT thread then?

Who saw episode 4? I loved the Jon and Sansa renioun and the ending with Khalessi burning the khals. That was epic.

I agree, and I think it would also be a good idea to split it off from this one so that everything from the current season ends up in there :)

Has anyone else watched Mr. Robot? I just recently watched the first season (I don't have access to the second yet, so please, no unmarked spoilers  ).

I liked it, it felt at least a little bit different from what the USA likes to produce these days in the way of series. And the turn of events in the last episodes of the season managed to catch me off-guard. Liked that. :)

The series also has a Swedish-Danish couple as characters, which was attention-grabbing. When the man first spoke Swedish, he managed to do it in a perfectly Finland-Swedish accent, which really boggled my mind -- I thought maybe he's grown up in Finland or something. But turns out it was only the usual illusion stemming from a small snippet -- he does speak with a Sweden-Swedish accent after all. But good grief, the Danish woman... I can't say that I'm super-familiar with spoken Danish, but her Danish felt like the trippiest thing all throughout the season. At first I thought they had sped up the speed and maybe garbled her lines a bit, maybe in an effort to pass it off as Swedish. But no, the English subtitles do say she is speaking in Danish. :P It's the oddest Danish I've ever heard, somehow. Really fast and oddly articulated to my ears.

Yes! :)

One thing I like about it is the fact that the technology part is actually pretty accurate, unlike most other shows where hackers are involved.

Stephanie Corneliussen was born and raised in Denmark, so I suppose she's actually speaking the language. To my ears, Danish always sounds fast and oddly articulated anyway... :P

After the end of GoT season I tried to re-watch old Brazilian series "Que Rei Sou Eu" because of related stuff (kingdoms, bastards, wizards, fights etc) but my wife made me stop and start to watch "The Magicians", what I was loving, then everybody around us made us stop and start to watch "Stranger Things" on Netflix.

Anyone here saw any of this?

Yes, I liked that, too! Something more than them just "typing really fast".

I'm really digging the humour in Kuroko no Basuke, which I started watching yesterday.
I don't know how to describe it, but I think it's the deadpan delivery by the main character during dramatically tense moments that makes it work.

They are being very faithful to the comics!

Being faithful to the comics isn't a good thing with the TWD, in my opinion. What made the show shine for me was how in the earlier seasons they tried to be creative and make the the TV show its own thing. The comics have gotten swamped in its own cliches and now the show has too. Super Evil Villains, aimless character development, torture porn, and killing off fan-fav characters just because that's all they have left to racket up the drama. I was pretty peeved that they ruined my two favorite female characters last season--Michonne who's was little more than Rick's bed-warmer last season, and Carol, whatever the heck they are trying to do with her. And I just was so repulsed by the ham-fistedness of the Negan storyline--yeah, I get it, a zombie apocalypse would be scary but I find that number of people drinking that much kool-aid without someone going, "Hey, someone needs to off this psycho, like, yesterday" before Rick and gang showed up is a bit much. Not to mention the torture porn/power fantasy elements of it. I play video games, so I am very aware of this whole subculture of hyper-masculine post-apocalypse/fantasy misanthropic torture porn like Negan and I am so over it. Sorry. I am sure the topic of this subculture would make for a number of interesting sociological dissertations but for my leisure time, no thanks.

I recently watched the 2nd season of Dark Matter on Netflix, which is a decent sci-fi show. Not great but decent. I really like where they are going with the Android. She's easily the most compelling character on the show now, seeing they dropped the ball with Six and his whole betraying-his-friends cliff-hanger. I really like Five too--they need to do more with her rather have she come to everyone's rescue all the time. I am little disappointed with the Four/Ryo storyline. I am not sure what they are going to do with that. But hey, the show hasn't hid the fact that most of these people are are some shade of bastard. Also, I really wish they gotten someone else to play Rook than Will Wheaton. Ugh. Serious miscasting. He must be buddies with one of the producers.

I also watched Stranger Things this past week. I enjoyed it well enough, but I can't say I am a crazy big fan. I am just not into that kind of Stephen King-esque stuff. There were things I thought were very clever and well-conceived but other things were pretty predictable and lazy. It also took me about 3 episodes before I realized that was Winona Ryder (I was doing Memrise while I binge-watched so I wasn't paying attention to the opening credits  ).

Another series I've gotten into lately is Drunk History. The Ella and Marilyn segment was the bestest!

I've been meaning to watch Mr. Robot. I keep hearing good things about it.
