Battle Royale
V for Vendetta

There are probably more, but I can't think of them right now. Best films I take seriously, very good like R point, Brotherhood, Saving Private Ryan and Midnight Express not included :)

Everybody I have asked says Battle Royale is shit compared to the original novel and the manga adaptation.

The movie > The manga (The manga is still good for back stories, even though it's a different plot). The novel? never read, but the movie was great.

I saw "Babel" for the first time last night. It was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to watch it again. Although there were four different storylines all eventually intertwining near the end, it wasn't hard to follow and gave it an interesting edge, showing the viewer that at the end of the day, we truely aren't all that different from one another. The characters were complex and gave touching performances, especially Chieko, a deaf-mute girl from Japan who simply craved human attention and who I felt stole the show and gave the best performance of them all. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I strongly advise you to watch this extraordinary film!

A film that really astonished me was 'The day after tomorrow' bacause it handled a global and ecological issue in a very impressive way and showed how are future might be,hoping to awaken all those responsible for the current situation of our planet. As it seems though, it hasn't done much.

 I was so disappointed by that movie, it was quite bad in my opinion. And it tried to present a street with traffic lights suspended from a cable as being in Britain. Hah!

I just saw what I think is the best old Finnish movie I've ever seen; Varastettu kuolema (1938). Now there really is no excuse the others from that time are so bad -- it's not like people weren't capable.

Ah, I just saw Paris, je t'aime.

Arguably the best movie I've seen in a while.
My favorite part was Quais de Seine.

Broken Wolf

I like very much La fille sur le pont, it's the only movie I've seen that seems a tale, not a novel.

I like the feeling of "nothing happens" in Kiarostami's movies, just as the deep simplicity of Pather Panchali.

When I saw Bergman's Circus, I often hated it - but I can't take the scenes out of my mind, they are as impactant as those of a great novel... I don't know if it was the best or the worst movie I've seen. :hmm:

I've seen The Big Lebowski and O Brother Where Art Thou?, both of which have cult followings. I guess Conan The Barbarian does, too, but I just think of it as a cheeseball fantasy flick from when I was young. Mongol was okay. There's some pretty great scenery in it and it's interesting to hear spoken Mongolian. I've always meant to see Ofelaš [sic] but just somehow never gotten around to it.
