Estonia and Hungary are currently fighting in my head.
I shall take a decision
Maybe both of them :D

Obviously Hungary is more worth it.

Not that I'm biased or something...

If you say so :D But I think I will be incomplete if I don't visit both. But then maybe Magyar will come first when I define my priorities :D

Romania. Two main reasons: Nature and the romanian language
native: (ar-MA) (nl)
very comfortable: (en-US)
somewhat comfortable: (de) (es) (af)
forgetting: (fr) (ar-arb)
touristy level: (ro) (sv)(ber)(pl)
someday hopefully: (ja) (sq) (cs) (tr) and many others

I'm visiting Budapest next month. I'm going to spend three nights there. Do you have any tips?

Definitely go to the Parliament's building. (Országháza)
It is very beautiful inside and since 2001 the Crown Jewels (Szent Korona) are on display.

In the Szent István Bazilika you also have the Szent Jobb (the mummified right hand of the first king).

The Gellért Hegy, from there you have a good view of the whole city. Most pics are taken from there.
And the Halászbástya, definitely go there.

Budai Vár-Barlang are catacombs/caves I think right below the Buda Vára (Buda Fortress).

But I'd say all important things to see tend to be right next to each other.

I'd also suggest going to any of the thermal baths, but I don't know if you're into them.

Merci !! thanks :-) köszönöm :D
I'll note this for my trip to Budapest (which is unplanned for the moment but will definitely happen)

PS <stupid question>
What happens if I'm in a pub in Budapest and forget about the "not toasting with beer" thing and cling my glass of beer with my partner's glass of beer ? Will Hungarian people get angry at the stupid foreigner ?

What, we don't do that? I never paid attention to this. Is it really a thing?
Now that I think about it I can't recall many moments of myself toasting with beer.

I honestly don't think people will care. It's just a "whatever, who cares" detail.

Sorry, I read that... repeatedly when I read about Hungary
Well maybe it's something ancient that has no meaning anymore now but I don't want to do anything stupid there in Magyar :yep:

Don't worry, you can't make anything stupid. I'm sure we don't have any weird customs, except for tiny-little differences that people wouldn't notice anyway.

Plus, it's you and your friends who should have fun and enjoy yourselves.

Magyarország = Hungary (Magyar = Hungarian, Ország = Country)
Franciaország = France (Francia = French, Ország = Country)

Thanks again... You're so right, I should start to learn right now :D
I am sure I will love Budapest. All my friends who have been there told me how great it was :D I have absolutely no doubt :partyhat:

Actually I'd love to explore my own country, as I haven't been to many interesting places. Recently I've discovered a good guide from The Guardian 10 best Russia holiday destinations beyond Moscow and St.Petersburg.
I've already been to Karelia and Kaliningrad, but the rest places are still obscure for me. I hope one day I'll see all of them.

So, as Hungary won against Estonia, I am now back from Budapest.
I had high expectations - and it exceeded my expectations. Yeah, really did.
I am mesmerized and was very upset to have to take the f*cking plane to fly back to France.

So, now I have developped a HUGE crush on this country, how am I supposed to survive?

PS any idea why Hungarian people are against France in the Euro 2016? That was my only deception point... :doggy:

I definitely want to visit Australia. In fact, I sometimes wish that I was born Australian instead of American.

Everything the tourists usually visit in Magyarország (Parliament, Nagy szinagoga, Széchenyi bath, Varosliget, St Istvan, Oktogon, Andrassy utca, Buda castle and palace, margitsziget, etc...) 8-)
And although all Hungarians put themselves together to say Kerület 8 was the worst, well I liked it a lot

I agree! :D I love Budapest, and having had the chance to visit it so often has really enriched my life and perspective a lot.
