Daläm means in.

We actually don't have any diacritics or accents in our alphabet (we basically have the same alphabet as in English). I just use ä to refer to the a's which are pronounced as a (no unstressed) schwa.

I also use é/è to differentiate it from e (schwa).

Most Indonesians would write (in the informal language) dalem instead of dalam because that's the way it's usually pronounced in the spoken language.

Saya berbicara dalam bahasa Indonesia, tetapi dengan kurang baik. :)
