THE NORTH WIND AND THE SUN
Would you like to translate this well-known fable into your conlang ?
If you do it, please post the natlang version you have used, as there are a lot of slightly different versions.

My first conlang ( based on northern italian dialects ) : "Ra Tramuntàna e ur Sor"
(sorry, I have a thing for correcting errors that I can readily… correct  )

Sounds great! I will start working on the Isyan version later :)

I'm finally done with translating the fable to my germlang, Gutiskar. I used a combination of English and Norwegian for this.

Nurðvindar an Sylar
Nurðvindar an Sylar bèvægður, ƕaðrar starkira vas, ƕæn fararir kwam ýv, varman mantlè klæþondur. Hit jatiður eð sumar ƕar fyrstar farari mundí sako sínan mantlè avneman, ƕihþras starkira skuldí vera. Sva Nurðvindar alla sína avló blèlæs, mé mær blèlæs, mær þíhtvé sir fararir mantlè ivi sek fèvelþ, an svivnó Nurðvindar ývgav. Æm Sylar varmó ýfskæn, an æntínvé sir fararir mantlè avnam. An sva Nurðvindar þurfté anhætan eð Sylar starkira bæs vas.

In Novbasa:

Wa Nord Vat deb admiti ke Sol es plus-bal kwam he. Tu li ay al kisah? Cu no yao re-bol he?

The North Wind and the Sun were disputing which was the stronger, when a traveler came along wrapped in a warm cloak. They agreed that the one who first succeeded in making the traveler take his cloak off should be considered stronger than the other. Then the North Wind blew as hard as he could, but the more he blew the more closely did the traveler fold his cloak around him; and at last the North Wind gave up the attempt. Then the Sun shined out warmly, and immediately the traveler took off his cloak. And so the North Wind was obliged to confess that the Sun was the stronger of the two.

English back-translation

The cold wind said to the sun, "I'm stronger than you!" The sun said, "No! I'm the strongest." Then a man came, a human with (a) big fur, a cloak. The cloak warmed the human up. The wind said, "See a human coming? I'm the strongest, so I'll make the human drop his cloak!" The sun said, "No! I'm the strongest, so I'll make the human drop his cloak." The wind and the sun said he who made the human drop his cloak would be the strongest.

The cold wind blew a loooooot, but the more the cold wind blew, the more the human cuddled with his cloak. The wind said, "Darn! I can't make the human drop his cloak. :(" Then the sun rose with much heat, so the human was very hot. His tongue was sticking out because it was so hot! The human dropped his cloak on the ground. Thus, the cold wind said, "Okay, (Sun,) you are the strongest."

The North Wind and the Sun.

Before vowels at the beginning of the word you might use a glottal stop. But if possible the words should be spoken without these breaks.

I'm also thinking about Greek as a second writing system for this language. I haven't rewritten the text for Greek yet, but I might add it later.

LITERAL: The Northwind and the Sun were arguing among themselves about who had greater strength. A traveller came there with a hot coat. They agreed that whoever would make the traveller remove their coat would have greater strength. The Northwind blew with all they had, but if they blew harder, the traveller would tighten their coat, and the Northwind gave up. The Sun shone with all they had. There was great heat, so they made the traveller take off their coat. So the Northwind had to admit that the Sun had greater strength.
