Words of encouragement

Postby lyric » 2007-06-06, 11:16

Hello Asturian speakers,

Your help is needed to complete the list of words of encouragement: http://home.unilang.org/wiki3/index.php ... ouragement

i.e. words you say to yourself or others when trying to accomplish a hard task,
like for example learning a new language .

Examples: "You can make it.", "Go-ahead! ", "Go!"

How do you say in Asturian?

Allez, let's go :D,

http://home.unilang.org/main/forum/view ... hp?t=16984

Now that I posted in the specialized fori I got many positive reactions.

If you want you can help to reactivate my post of the general translation forum.
Maybe you know some encouraging words in Asturian.

Cheers,

Hello PoPoWiWi,

Thank you very much for editing directly the wiki
(I didn't notice ;-))

Could you also give literal translations of your words:
¡Venga!
¡Vamos, ho!
¡Pues facelo!
¡Faelo!

I guess 'Vamos' means 'Let's go'?

Cheers,

El l.lugar onde vives [The place where you live]

Postby PoPoWiWi » 2007-06-06, 20:17

Idea copied from Spanish Forum. 8)

I live in Gijon, in Spain. It's a city medium big (300.000 inhabitants), but if you mix it with the cities near me like Oviedo and Avilés (that the 3 togheter are the "Y") we are near 600.000 persons. In my province, Asturias, there is a million of inhabitants.
My city is in the coast. Our coast has a lot of cliffs, but between these cliffs there are some beautiful beaches (called the Green Coast). Gijón is the biggest city in Asturias, and the seventh of Spain.
What I like the most about my city is that we have everything: we are near the mountains, but next to the beach. In the summer we don't have a lot of hot, but in the winter we have good weather as well (higher than, for example, in Madrid). Like everyone in a city, I live in a flat. My house is very big. In the summer I live in another house (bigger) that we have in the perifery of the city, where most of my friends do live. For that I love the summer!
