I'd never even heard of this language until I met two of the people I work with at the grocery store. One's name is Sixon, and his sister is Sera. Their family comes from a tiny set of islands in Micronesia called Chuuk. The language has about 45,000 speakers.

I've barely been able to find any information on it, aside from these few phrases. Some of them:

Hello - Ron annim.
Good morning - Neesor annim.
Thank you - Kinissow.
What is your name? - Ifa itom?
My name is ___ - Itei _____.

Anybody have more resources?

I prefer to think of it as being "green" (Reduce. Reuse. Recycle) with threads ;)

Haha. Do you remember the ad campaign from the 90s? I definitely didn’t come up with the three Rs.

Woah, I didn't realize Chuukese is an Austronesian language. Suddenly, I've gained some interest in this language. 8-)

You know, a good place to start for all Austronesian languages, especially the less common ones, is ABVD. Here's the page for this language: http://language.psy.auckland.ac.nz/aust ... php?id=349

Also, I've been to prel.org as well. Good site! You can actually find some readings in various languages, including Chuukese: http://www.prel.org/PALM/languages.asp
