Учи ли некој македонскиот јазик?
Јас почев да го учим одскора.
Полесно ми што зборувам српски, па разбирам речите, но ми тешко да не употребувам српски речи и падежи.

Well, I'm not Macedonian so I'm not sure about the corrections.
учи ли го некоj македонскиот jазик - the rule about the double object pronouns
to start = почвам / почнам
одскора - there is no Genitive ending here
Полесно ми е ... - we need a verb here
word = збор (not реч)

Да, има некоj, којшто го учи тука македонскиот. Добродошол. Надевам се дека ќе ти биде убаво тука.

Не знаем дали се го кажува реч или збор. Оба има в речникот, ама wordbook е речник.
Благодарам за остаток!

Can you tell me the rule about the double object and the articles.. in Bulgarian at least.
Because my Macedonian learning are done only by reading in that language, so I can't actually work out the rules myself.

p.s. why do you whistle when you type in Macedonian? :)

реч = speech (in Bulgarian: реч)
збор = word (in Bulgarian: дума)
речник - wordbook (in Bulgarian: речник)
остаток ?!? Probably you mean исправка (=correction)
во - in (not "в")
обата is for masculine nouns, but обете is for feminine or neutral forms. In this case we need the definite article (-та and -те) / "двете" is the Bulgarian form

The rule about the double object is really easy. There is no difference between Bulgarian and Macedonian. When in the sentence there is an Accusative or a Dative object, you have to put the personal pronouns.
[flag]mk[/flag] Даj ми ja книгата! (here we have an Accusative object, книга is feminine and that's why we have the personal pronoun for feminine in Accusative which is "ja")
[flag]bg[/flag] Дай ми (я) книгата! (In Bulgarian this rule might not be observed. Both versions are correct)
[flag]en[/flag] Give me the book!

[flag]mk[/flag] Кажи му ja новината на Гошо! ( here we have a Dative object, Gosho is a man, so we have the personal pronoun for masculine in Dative which is "му")
[flag]bg[/flag] Кажи (му) (я) новината на Гошо! (it's the same)
[flag]en[/flag] Say the news to Gosho!

Your sentences are wrong because:
Не знаем дали се го кажува реч или збор - Here "реч или сбор" are in Nominative so, we don't need an Accusative object.
Обете / Двете ги има во речникот - "има" always demands an Accusative object, so the Accusative object is needed here.

You can find the forms of the definite article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macedonian_grammar#Nouns or http://www.seelrc.org:8080/grammar/main ... nguageID=3. They're put at the end of the word (noun or adjective) but you already know that.

P.S. Why did I whistle? I don't know. I show hospitality to you in this way. :yep:

Благодарам. Членовите се ми многу тешки.

wait, one more thing. If the object is a personal pronoun, as I said in the sentence above do I still need to use double object?
Мене членовите се ми многу тешки.?
Sounds really strange..

На мене (D) членовите (N) се ми (D) многу тешки.?

That's right! But in this case you need a Dative object (на мене, ми)
Yeap, it's a bit strange but these double pronoun forms sound absolutely normal to me.
[flag]mk[/flag] На мене (D) ми (D) е убаво. / На мене (D) ми (D) е тажно. e.g.

P.S. Most of Bulgarians make really stupid grammar mistake when they say: Аз (N) ми (D) е хубаво. / Аз (N) ми (D) е тъжно. Аз is in Nominative but the sentence is impersonal and there is no subject but Dative object. So the correct forms are На мен(е) (D) ми (D) е хубаво. / На мен(е) (D) ми (D) е тъжно.

I've been interested in Македонски for a little while now. I have a few native speakers as friends so they've kept me interested. I've been doing some reading and research and think I might like to give it a little shot. It is in my todo list and has been for a while after all ;). What resources would you recommend starting with?

Благодарам!

I use the resources given at the end of the wiki page about the Macedonian language. This teach-yourself-book might be useful, too.

Hej, Sara!
du har rätt - makedoniska är ett verkligen intressant språk. Du är välkommen hit!
You don't have to start every sentence with the personal pronoun forms. You better omit them because the conjugated verb gives the information who the doer of the action is. Of course it's not a mistake but it sounds more naturally that way.
The language names are always written with small letter.
Jазик is masculine and the masculine form of the adjective should be "убав". "Убаво" is for neuter nouns.
And be careful - there is a difference between к and ќ!
Ha det bra! Om du har frågar, feel free to ask. :)

I like Macedonian, the sweetest Slavic language there is, the vowels are clear, and not muffled as in Bulgarian or Russian. :) I can understand it perfectly although I can't speak it. The syntax looks very complicated. :hmm:

I like Karolina a lot,
Mojot svet se vika muzika

Elena too :)

The syntax keeps me occupied a lot when trying to get through Macedonian texts/songs etc. A lot of clitics that has to be put in the sentence, like go, gi, ja that you put before a verb if it's a direct object that the verb refers to. Like, "Jas ja chitam knigata" which means "I read the book" but literally means "I it read the book". I think I've gotten a hang of it though, what bothers me now is the clitics that are left from the dative case. :?

Oh well, I still prefer clitics to using the actual cases. Cases are just evil

I love Karolina and Elena too - Macedonian music is greeeeat! Have you heard Karolinas latest song "Ne se vrakjash" ?
