Languages of central Cameroon

While French is spoken in central Cameroon, many other languages are spoken here. They include Adamawa and Mbororo Fulfulde, two varieties of Fula. Most of them are Bantoid, Cross River, Ubangian, or Jukunoid. The Sara language Ngambay and a Chadic language called Peve are both spoken near the Chadian border. The Ubangian languages are mainly spoken towards the east, closer to the border with the Central African Republic (CAR). The Bantoid, Cross River, and Jukunoid languages are spoken further to the west, closer to the border with Nigeria.
