They also stated that they wrote it the way they did so that if you were working with a native speaker, they could read the tape scripts.
And I was bound to come to the SAL forum eventually. I'm just glad it's for Tibetan!

You came earlier for the Tamil study group, though.

Yes, but I never actually participated.
And, no offence to anyone, but Tibetan is more my jam anyway. Plus we go back a lot further.

Of course.

I'm a little disappointed that Fluent Tibetan doesn't teach any of the ཝ subscript letters. Seems like a pretty significant oversight to me, even if none of the vocabulary in the book uses it.

Oh well, we have plenty of other sources at our disposal that do!

I'm not going to stress about still not getting the right letters for every sound. I'm just hoping I'll pick it up as I go along.

I think you will! I don't necessarily always get it yet, either. The contrast between the second and third columns is pretty hard to hear, although I think I kind of get the idea.
I've tried to write the letters in a larger font size this time like you do.

ཆ་ is right and what the answer key and the recording say.

I was just working off the audio to correct myself, and must have misheard.

Ok, so for this week, how about doing Unit 1 drills 7-16? Is that too much?
[That is, if I can resist the urge to do some Vietnamese instead. Damn you History channel!]

I personally don't mind since this is all still the alphabet anyway, but that looks like a lot more than you've handled so far.
More importantly, what are you doing for German and Polish? EDIT: Never mind, I saw your posts there just now.

I thought that same thing. It's very hard to tell the difference between ང་ and ཉ་ We'll have to see if it continues with the rest of the nasals.

Well, I guess he does pronounce མ་ differently. The woman distinguishes the nasals much more clearly in all cases, though.
