Hey Vijay, I don't know if you read my latest post on my TAC, but attempting the Tamil to Spanish translation of the BTG game really energized me to master Tamil grammar. I know that we've been going through Tamil Paadanool one lesson at a time. I also know that we did some Tamil Language in Context earlier, but we did the lessons. However, they also have a grammar only page, with just the grammar components of each lesson. I was thinking of going through both resources at the same time and on my own. We could still keep this study group going, and just share what each of us are learning or any questions we have. I want to go at my own pace, which might mean several lessons at a time one week, and then nothing at all the next week. Is that ok with you?

You're free to do that if you like, of course, but I don't know what I'd study in that case. :hmm:

How's your Tamil grammar? Are you getting anything from the lessons we've done so far? If so, then maybe we could continue like before? So, we could either continue TP one lesson per week (or up it to two), or start doing both TP and TLiC at one lesson per week apiece? Or another idea, if you have one.

(Sometimes I can get overzealous and make plans that on second thought I realize might not work so well.)

The thing for me is that I don't usually join study groups just to learn a new language (I have plenty of languages on my plate even otherwise, and they usually don't include the study group languages!); I join them to help people stay motivated while they're trying to learn a language. Tamil grammar is really similar to Malayalam grammar, so studying the basics of it doesn't help me all that much, but I don't mind going through them with somebody else (like you :P) if it can help them. Going through the last few dialogues in TLIC might help me some more although I'm not sure how much. Maybe I'll try doing that and see how that works out for me.

Ok, I understand. I think initially doing this study group with you really did help motivate me. Now that I'm a little more into my Tamil studies, I think I am more comfortable about how and where to proceed. So I guess I might as well proceed on my own, and just use my TAC for updates. I know you check there anyway, so we can always chat there.

PS. Thanks for the Tamil dictionary link. Frabicius has apparently an Android app, which is pretty cool.

Not right now. I stopped using UL for about a year to almost 2 years, and even though I recently started frequenting here again, it's not that frequent! Also, I did try to restart my Tamil studies, but have again put them on hold due to life circumstances.

So does anyone want to use this for learning Tamil now? There seems to have been interest recently.
