I love how the Tamils really appreciate their language and culture. That in my opinion makes Tamils the most respectable peoples in India. With this in mind, it is obvious that the Tamil language will always be the strongest in India. Not even Hindi has as much strength as Tamil. Thamizhnadu & Thamizheezham Forever

I agree with you, but bengali is the same as tamil. Bengali's even have a national holiday for their language. And you can argue that Bangladesh was even formed because of Bengali. thats why Im so interested in both Tamil and Bengali because the natives believe so strongly in their language.

I don't think that Tamils appreciate their language at all,
1. many upper middle class and high class Tamil prefer English, and heavily anglicized colloquial Tamil, and don't even know how to speak or write the standard Tamil (Trisha is a perfect example).
2. poor rural people don't know how to speak or write the formal Tamil, because the the Tamil school system is not that effective
3. Tamils don't like to read Tamil literature, not many newspapers in Tamil

In reality, Malayali speakers are more loyal to their language, all Keralites know how to write and speak Malayalam regardless of style, and are less likely to anglicize their language. Furthermore, Malayali's are crazy about reading in Malayalam (and not English as Tamil do), literacy rate in Kerala is 97%, and it has the records of books and newspapers impressed.

Language ''worshipping'' should be measured in this practical way,
So many Tamils like saying ''our language is the oldest'', but they consider it like a painting, it should be worshipped from afar, and it should not be used in real life. :ohwell:

Language is to be enjoyed and spoken, and not to be worshipped like a saint and not used in real life.

Furthermore, Tamil Nadu is the only state in India in which pupils can choose from the 1st grade which language they want to study. The majority favors English over Tamil, so they don't even learn their mother tongue. :?

So, you get the bizarre situation where Asin and Bhavana speak better Tamil than Trisha. :ohwell:

(And Trisha has no excuse for her lousy Tamil, unlike Deepika who can say: I don't speak Kannada very well because my native language is Mangalore Konkani, or Ash who can say: I don't speak Kannada because my native language is Mangalore Tulu.).

First of all everyone knows Trisha is not a fullblooded Tamil. She says she is because its considered so beauitful to have light skin and be a fullblooded Tamil. She doesnt even speak Hindi well, she doesnt speak Telugu well either. She speaks Italian and French (supposdely) better. Shes famous for her light skin and thats all. Sridevi and Hema Malini speak perfect flawless Tamil. So does Rekha and Vidya Balan. Most of the time in Tamil and even Telugu movies, they hire North Indian actresses. Do you know Shreya Saran? She's natively from North India, near Nepal. Simran's mother tounge is Punjabi and and is also from the North. Asin has simply gotten lucky in the inusdrty. Although she is talented, her father was a famous actor. No matter what anyone says. And Tamils in my own opinion are WAY WAY more passionate about their language. They are the only state in India who refuses to speak any other regional language. Although rarely some will speak Hindi. I know WAY more Malayis whos speak Hindi. Also many Malayi's will tell you that Malayalam is a waste of time to learn. Just look on the web of how much more sites TAMILS have made to learn Tamil. How many Malayalam sites are there compared to Tamil? Tamil Nadu and West Bengal were the states that really gave India trouble of turning Hindi into the offical langauge.

Im NOT saying Malayam is a bad language, in fact it's a beautiful langauge. I love Malayi's too. And there are some that are passionate about Malayalam. But almost anyone in India will tell you Tamils are more passionate for tehir langauge, in fact they are infamous for it.

Aarya''s younger brother is in a new movie (his 1st one, actually). Here is a nice song from this movie (still not out in the theaters):
