Is anyone interested in Bengali? I have always been interesed but haven't ever tried to learn it.

I was amazed to find out how many speakers Bengali has. It's easily the most under-represented of the major languages.

Wow, I'm surprised Bengali does not have its own subforum because I have quite a few friends that speak it. Thanks for the resources by the way. I'll try to learn it, because I want to, but I don't think I'll be very successful at it. :D

yeah bengali should have its own subforum because there are soooo many speakers of it. and dont worry its an easy langauge.

Too bad there isn't any bengali speakers that are active on unilang. Also, there aren't forums for other popular east asian languages such as Pashto and Urdu, which is also quite surprising.

Also, I think I might have trouble with getting used to the writing system used in Bengali, but that's what I have native speaker friends of the language. :)

They have Urdu :) And I have been trying to get a pashtosubforum for sometime but hasnt worked out :P and Bengali writing system isnt too diffucult :) at least I dont think. Theres a Teach Yourself for bengali, have you seen it?
