I was looking through the thread and I don't think I've posted some of these links:

http://aajkalca.com/
Newspaper from Toronto. Very good for reading practice.

http://thebengalitimes.com/
Also a newspaper from Canada.

http://www.bartamanpatrika.com/
Bengali newspaper based in India.

http://www.shatorupa.com/
This is a literary magazine, it has short stories, poems and novels. It's a very good site.

South Asian Language subforum now? Sweet! Threw me off though. I was looking for the Bengali thread and it wasn't there o_O

Anyway, does anyone know any musical, bollywood-like songs in Bengali? Like the Devdas or Mohabbatein soundtracks?

নমস্কার বিজলী!

Hmm Bollywood-like songs are hard to find in Bengali. Try "Prem Amar" (প্রেম আমার) it has very catchy songs. Also a lot of Shreya Ghoshal songs in Bengali are very nice. I really like "Jao Pakhi Bolo". I also love the songs from "Premer Kahini". I will post some here if you want :)

নমস্কার মীরা!
ধন্যবাদ! Not exactly what I was looking for, though I do like a couple Prem Aamar songs and Jao Pakhi Bolo. And I -love- Shreya Goshal :<3:
Ah well, I guess I can just be content with the regular Hindi Bollywood songs :)

Oh and I'd love if you posted some :O

Teenreef, those are very nice songs but not exactly "Bollywood" style. Bijlee, I know its not what your looking for but here some of the ones I mentioned, they are the closest I've found to Bollywood type songs. West Bengal's/ Bangladesh's entertainment industry isn't as well as developed as Mumbai's. The real good ones are quite old and usually don't have any songs and are more artsy than Masala.

I don't really know any Bengali songs that have huge dance numbers like Devdas, K3G, KKHH and things like that. However Tamil and Telugu films have tons of songs like that and their movie industry is a lot bigger. Bengali movies tend to be simpler.

Hmmm... I guess I'll just have to abandon Bengali and go for one of those languages.

Kidding.

Well maybe :para:

Yeah, true. I still want to learn Tamil though. I just want some books :P

Anyway, on a different note, we should start a person after me game in Bengali! Any idea how to say that in Bangla?

Why একজন? I don't know, Your Bengali is better than mine :P

Unfortunately, I am not. :( I don't have time for it.
I'm learning only Tamil, but will eventually learn Assamese. :P

As for Bengali music songs, I always preview them at musicjagat.
