Do you have the Pollex files? and if so when was your last update? I would appreciate it if you could send me a copy so I can check for cognates.


I can't release the files out to anyone. But go ask Ross Clark.

My copy is 6 months old.

Why can't you release the files? If you have no problem sharing what you "supposedly" found in them, then why not share the files so I can check for myself? doesn't make much sense.

Because the files are tapu not the information itself.

On top of that all of the reconstructions can be easily confirmed by going to each language's dictionary.

Why are the files tapu? There is no restriction academic material so when someone says that he can't release it because it's tapu I have to wonder if it exists at all or if he didn't find anything in them at all.

So you were there when I received the files?

They are under tapu because the person who created them made it so. To ignore that tapu would be un-Polynesian of me.
