'Ōlelo 'au = Jeg snakker
'Ōlelo oe = Du snakker
'Ōlelo kakou = vi snakker

I've already got a question. What does global stops refer to? Why are they used so commonly?

Creo que los "stops" son como las letras - a, b, c, :D Pero no estoy segura :P

Lo siento pero me nego a hablar en mi idioma materno :D

The glottal stop is the sound of "a stop produced by closing the vocal cords, building up pressure, and then releasing it by opening them" (Pocket Hawaiian Grammar).

The glottal stop is a consonant in Hawaiian. Its omitting or adding it can change the meaning of a word completely. For example:

Kou - your (O-class)
Ko'u - my (O-class)

Ai - to have sex
'Ai - to eat

Kai - sea
Ka'i - to lead

Tarkan pronounces a clear glottal stop when saying "sa'ahibi" in his song "Şımarık" :wink:
