This thread covers the indigenous languages spoken from San Luís Potosí to Guerrero, including, but not limited to,
La Huasteca. La Huasteca is a linguistically diverse region where varieties of Huasteca Nahuatl, its Mayan neighbor Huastec, the Pame languages, the Totonacan languages, and some varieties of Otomi are all spoken. Other closely related Otomanguean language varieties are spoken nearby. The Tarascan languages are spoken west of Mexico City, and several varieties of Nahuatl are spoken to the west and (especially) south of Mexico City. Especially closer to Oaxaca, many other Otomanguean languages are spoken as well, including Me'phaa, Guerrero Amuzgo, some varieties of Mixtec, and the so-called "Popoloca" language cluster of Puebla.
