It is! This was my response to that:Lur wrote:Ch'ab'al isn't language? Maybe I mixed it up with Kaqchikel
I think your sentence and the meaning were correct. The discussion after that was unrelated, I was just asking about the word "kab'an" (seems to mean "does") as a separate question.Linguaphile wrote:vijayjohn wrote:Saqirik nan! Or "the K'iche' language is beautiful?"

Linguaphile wrote:Yes, I think you are right. B'an = "to do" and k marks present tense. Tyox!

Na weta’m taj. I haven't heard that, but it could be true. I don't even know where to look to find K'iche' etymologies. I do know that other Maya languages have related words like lela', lelo' and loo' which are supposedly related to the K'iche' words, but whether or not they all also originate from Spanish, I don't know.
I think we're each wrong on different things (and, in a couple of cases, maybe both right and just saying the same thing in different ways). My comments on our Unit 5 answers and their differences (hidden in spoiler tags, in case someone else wants to try before seeing this):vijayjohn wrote:Hmm, now I'm wondering whether all my differences with you are all wrong or we're each wrong on different things.
