Personally, I was thinking of have everyone write something small by the end of their CSAILC/NAILC/EALC, like a poem, story, or song, etc.
They would compose it in whatever language they are studying, translate it in English, and dissect the grammar. And we could judge them for style, content, and grammar use.
Good, bad? Other ideas?
