How did you get it? Did you buy it?

Yes. I bought a copy from one of the links I posted in the Mohawk section of the Learning Resources thread.

How much is in one? Maybe two per week? I know that seems uselessly slow but I'm a bit stressed out and this is more like leisure time :para: (Other people watch movies, I make a list of indigenous languages from everywhere  )

When I get really hooked to anything I discover, I'm totally committing, though.

And I'm ok with us going at different paces, if you find mine too slow. :P

Let's shoot for Lesson 1 by next week (7/31), how does that sound for you?

I'm up for it :D

My brain is a bit like "lets do Mohawk, but also Oneida is the most like that, but also Cayuga has resources, but also I should look at other groups so there's Wendat and Tuscarora..."

Aw man! Now y'all are doing Mohawk! Well, at least I have the teaching grammar, too.

Dunno whether I'll manage to do chapter one in two days though. :para:

I'm still focusing on Seneca, so don't sorry about that.

I haven't actually done anything yet because of the foster kittens and moving :? But I found three videos about pronunciation and so on in youtube.

And I've been meaning to upload the audio to the Mohawk Teaching Grammar.

But first things first, I need to review some Seneca!

Mulligan? :P

Sgë:nö'. Dë'ëh nis šya:söh?

Actually, where as I'd like to still do this, I do think it's a bit unreasonable for us to converse in a fast enough way to make this workable, so let's just trade off writing up dialogues/stories and have the other person translate. :P

A: Sgë:nö’. Dë’ëh ni:s šya:söh?
B: Sgë:nö’. Terry ni:’ gya:söh.
A: Jerry ni:s šya:söh?
B: Hë’ëh, Jerry (ni:’) de’gya:söh! Terry ni:’ gya:söh!
A: Tom ni:’ gya:söh. Sadögweta’?
B: Gadögweta’. I:s koh? (i:s = ni:s)
A: De’gadögweta’. Aknö’ë:gö’s.

Do you know what exactly did they change in the Mohawk ortography?

(I find the use of : for long vowels really cute)

(We should have study groups for eeeeeverythingggg)

I'm afraid I don't, I just know that they changed it in 1993 if I remember correctly.

I'm inclined to think that it didn't change that much, but I'm not sure by any measure.

Everything Iroquoian? I'd be down for that for sure! :P  :D

Actually I was thinking everything Dene and Inuit but sure

So I'm going to start with the teaching grammar today. Because it seems I dig it, I might want to do everything Iroquoian at some point.

That reminds me that I should upload the audio. I'll try to do that later today. I'll shoot you a PM when I have some of it done.

And I'd definitely be up for a few other NAIL study groups. Eventually.

I could definitely get down with some Eskimo-Aleut, and a few others. I could potentially go for Dene too. (I'm not sure how you're meaning to use Dene, but using it by itself specifically means the Northern Athabascan speaking peoples. Which I could definitely go for. :P )

I imagine there aren't Iroquoian resources beyond beginning textbooks, right? :(

There are some grammars, but not much no. Are you looking at any particular language in the family, or for any particular resource(s)?
